BELONIA, August 2 (TIWN): Goods worth 11 lakhs were burnt to ashes when massive fire broke out into the houses of Sudhamo at Pepariakhola area under PR bari Police station on Friday late night.
Reportedly, the incident took place on Friday late night when fire broke out into the house of the Sudhamo and spread with the flow of the heavy wind.
However, on night of the incident the owner of the house Sudhamo was out his house with his family to attend a wedding. While he was attending the wedding party a neighbor of his house called him and informed him that fire broke out in his house. Getting the information he immediately called Belonia fire service. Further the official of the Belonia fire service denied to reach the spot as the area doesn’t come under their coverage map. Without wasting time he further called Rajnagar fire service station and to our shock the fire service crew reached the spot after 3 hours, where as the spot is just adjacent to the fire service station.
By the time he along with his neighbor brought the fire under control but there was loss of about 11 lakh. The victim Sudhamo alleged that if fire service would have reached the spot on time fire could have been brought under control more easily.
However, it is estimated that goods worth 11 lakh rupees including electronic goods and other accessories were burnt to ashes after fire broke out from short-circuit.
