AGARTALA, Aug 1 (TIWN): The Medical Council of India (MCI) eyeing strict towards the improper infrastructure of the Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) had issued a notice to the authority of the AGMC recently to place the report of the infrastructural status of AGMC Post Graduate Medical Course.
The AGMC in its status report was asked to highlight the basic arrangements set up for the PG Medicine course and submit the report by 6 weeks or else the affiliation to the course would be cancelled, said source.
The MCI issuing the stern notice to the AGMC said that if the concerned authority failed to submit the report by the tied time than the MCI would have to cancel the affiliation to the course.
However, it is worthy to mention here that the MCI was keeping a very stern eye on AGMC and on its infrastructural arrangements being set up in different PG courses.
A team of Medical Council of India (MCI) on July 16 has send an expert team to take a stock of the situation of infrastructures of Post-Graduate (PG) course in AGMC.
The council issuing a notice had asked the AGMC authority to submit a report of upgraded infrastructure within 6 weeks and then to call the MCI team for a visit here after submitting the fees of Rs. 2 lakhs.
The council had also noticed that if the infrastructure of General Surgery and Paediatric PG Courses are not improved than the duo courses would be cancelled.
The overall haphazard situation of AGMC has left skepticism about the security of the medical college’s MBBS students’ future as the MCI officials have been keeping stern eyes on AGMC.
