AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): A total of 475 panchayat villages would be soon covered with 100 per cent sanitation facilities during the first phase, said Minister Ratan Bhowmik on Thursday. He said that the entire project in being implemented under the Swachh Bharat Mission. This time the state government has targeted the individuals to be covered with the 100 per cent sanitation, he said. Besides, all the defunct category sanitation or the toilets would be listed out with the central government.
The entire project would be completed by 2 years. This year at least 475 panchayat villages would be covered with 100 per cent sanitation. Total six districts of the state has been targeted comprising of Dhalai, North, South, Unakoti, Khowai and West, Bhowmik told to reporters on Thursday.
He also said, “The Swachh Bharat Mission would take up the project work only for the APL categories whereas the BPL categories would be covered up with the work to be taken up by the REGA.”
Besides, Bhowmik also said that the state government had recently received Rs. 15.39 crore under Swachh Bharat Mission.
