AGARTALA, July 23 (TIWN): In order to improve the livelihood of destitute women and orphan children of Kailashahar, recently a meet of District Child Protection Society was organized at the Unakoti District Magistrate Office conference hall.
During the meet, it has been decided that a safety centre for abandon women will be established at the Kailashahar sub-division. Besides, it has also been decided that a refuge shelter for free will be established for the children.
Representatives of the child line informed at the meet, with the initiatives of the various department a programme will be organized for the child protection.
Similar kind of programme will be organized on August 10 with the supervisors of the anganwadi centres regarding various development programmes.
At the meet, a block level and village level committee has been formed for child protection.
The programme was presided over by District Magistrate Mrinal Kanti Nath.
During the meet, Chairperson Kailashahar Municipal Council Minati Bhattacharjee, Senior Deputy Magistrate J V Duati, Sub-divisional Magistrate Ajit Shukla Das, CDPO of Gournagar and Kumarghat were present.
Beside, officials of Education Department, Information and Cultural Affair Department, Health Department and Police Department were also present.
