AGARTALA, July 23 (TIWN): Wrong display of roman digit in a clock placed in the Ashtami Market at Old Agartala a source for humours for locals. The clock which shows time, a wrong display of roman digit has become a laughing stock.
It is worthy to mention that the state government which has been so much concern about the betterment of the state public fails to witness the wrongly displayed clock at the Ashtami Market.
In the clock where the digit 4 would be curved as IV in roman, it is placed as IIII.
People moving across the market have been making fun of the clock. Most of the passerby depends over the timing of clock. Even the students and kids learn measurement of the time from the clock.
However, the clock which has been the identity of the market and the area has become a laughing stock.
The market has been running well but the wrong display of the clock has created humour in the market.
“We mostly look at the clock for the time as it is easy for us to look at. Therefore, despite of wrong roman digit also we manage”, said a shopkeeper. But it is shameful that spending lakhs over the construction of the building a major mistake in the identity of the area left a deep scar on the beautiful construction.
