AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): Chief Minister Sarkar will inaugurate Polytechnic Institute built at Ambasa under Dhalai District of the state.
Sarkar is scheduled to inaugurate the new building of the institution at around 11:00 am on July 25. Education Minister Tapan Chakroborty is also scheduled to remain present during the programme.
More polytechnics are being set up so that all districts will have them. Each sub-division has at least one Industrial Training Institute. There is a College of Agriculture, a College of Fisheries and a College of Veterinary Sciences. Tripura has two medical colleges and 13 postgraduate courses have been started.
Besides, there are B.Sc. training colleges and institutions for paramedics. Another State university is on the cards. Students no longer need to travel out for higher education. The State will now focus on teacher training.
Educational improvement at the school level has been reflected in the higher education sector. All sub-divisional headquarters towns now have colleges. Newly created sub-divisions will also get colleges soon.
