AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): Just 3 days ahead of the famous Kharchi Fair, corruption has already gripped the allocation process of the stalls in the fair. Every year several numbers of stalls are allocated the business man for carrying out their business in the fair.

As per the rules, the business men are allocated stalls through lottery system and accordingly the results of lottery for stall allocation was suppose to be given on Tuesday morning but till 2 in the noon the results were not declared.

The business men alleged that massive corruption has gripped the lottery system. The authorities of the mela committee have not yet declared the names of the business men and the stalls allocated to them.

Resentment brewed up among the business man following the delay in the declaration of the lottery results. The business man further said that this delay is creating chaos among the people and some of the unruly businessman has already occupied the stalls illegally.

A business man said that they come from different spot and they require time to set up their stall but this continuous delay is hampering the work progress of their business.

The business men are now waiting for the time when the authority will declare lottery results.

However it is to be mention here that the seven day long traditional Kharchi puja will continue till 30th July. During this period, huge numbers of devotees from all parts of the state will turn up to celebrate and seek blessings. This year the number is expected to climb considerably.
