AGARTALA, July 21 (TIWN): For the first time in Tripura, a full time course in Film Studies has begun in Tripura University. The admission process for the session has already concluded. Along with the film studies course, a full time degree course on Rubber production is also scheduled to get introduced from this current financial year. Now, no one has to run outside that state to peruse degree in Film studies, any aspiring candidate can peruse degree in film studies from TU.
Speaking on the introduction of the new courses Rubber production the authorities said that Tripura is the second largest producer of rubber in the country after Kerala and if proper education is provided to aspiring people it will help in generating much more advanced production of rubber in the state.
These courses will not only reach out to students, but also reach out to the people of the state and help in bringing “equilibrium” in society. Our society is going through a transitional phase. There is a need for equilibrium and discipline in our thinking and this newly introduced course will help in gaining knowledge related to this course.
However, it has come to known that the Film study course will be entitled under the course of BVOC (Bachelor in vocational degree).
Sources confirmed that Tripura University has recently signed a MoU with NSDC (National skill Development Corporation) for opening these courses in the campus. Apart UGC has also sanctioned an amount Rs.1.6 crore for opening this courses.
Special course on Kokborok language has also begun.
In the coming financial year, it is scheduled that courses on Travel and Tourism, Website development, and Mushroom cultivation will also begin.
