AGARTALA, July 19 (TIWN): With the aim to improve the fish production in the state, recently a workshop on scientific fish production in the state is organised at Ambassa Doshomighat community hall.
Minister Naresh Jamatia in a recently organised workshop at Ambassa doshomighat community hall stated that on its ambitious plan, the several initiatives should be adopted to make the state’s fish farmers self sufficient with the production of 17 kg of fishes per citizen of the state. He also claimed that by 2017, the state’s fish-farmer will be self sufficient which will decrease the import of fishes in the state.
By 2016-17 the fish production will rise to 20 kg per citizen of the state and by 2021-22 the production will increase to 25kg.
Expressing glad, Minister Jamatia said that comparing to the earlier days; recently proper arrangements have been made to maintain good quality of fish production. Improvised fish feeding centres have been constructed to preserve the foods of the fishes including medicines and many other things.
However, Minister Naresh Jamatia, Ambassa panchayat Samiti Chairperson Tapati Bhattacharjee along with other dignitaries remained present in the program.
