KHOWAI, July 16 (TIWN): Along with the whole State, Khowai Sub-Division will also join the CPM Prachar Abhiyan with 6 charters of demands. The Abhiyan is expected to commence from August 1 and will continue till August 19, said Agricultural Minister Aghore Debbarma at a mass convention held at Khowai Town Hall on Thursday.
The demand includes that reduce in the expansion of fund under Central Budget of Agriculture and Rural Development will not be accepted. They demanded to increase the opportunity for the unemployed and to fill up the various posts of different departments under the Central Government.
Under the Rural Projects, the concern authority should ensure 100 working days in a year. With the enforcement of the Food Security Law all the families under APL and BPL should be provided with 25kg of rice at Rs. 2.
Along with all the demands, the ruling party is expected to stage campaign on August 1 and will continue till 19.
Keeping eye on the campaign, a mass convention was organized at Khowai Town Hall on Thursday.
MLA Padma Debbarma, CPM Leader Biswajit Datta, Chairman of ADC Ranjit Debbarma and others were present at the mass convention.
