AGARTALA, July 16 (TIWN): Nehru Yuva Kendra in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) organized a Minute- to Minute Schedule of ‘World Youth Skills Day’ at Nazrul Kalakhetra on Wednesday.
The programme was inaugurated by MLA of Banamalipur Constituency Gopal Roy.
During the programme, briefing on Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Director of Laurench and Representative of NSDC said that it is the flagship outcome-based skill training scheme of the new Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
The objective of this skill certification and reward scheme is to enable and to mobilize a large number of Indian youth to take up skill training and become employable and earn their livelihood.
Under the scheme, monetary rewards would be provided to trainees who are successfully trained, assessed and certified in skill courses run by affiliated training providers.
The scheme implemented through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
PMKVY aims to leverage the potential of India’s demographic dividend by providing skill-training and making every skilled youth employable.
Training will be provided based on industry aligned National Occupational Standards through training providers and Sector Skill Councils.
Under PMKVY, candidates will be eligible for a monetary reward, upon successful completion of their training and also clearing the assessment by an independent assessment agency appointed by Sector Skill Council.
Moreover the candidates will also receive a government recognized certificate which will help them to become gainfully employed.
During the programme, MLA of Pratabgarh Constituency Ramu Das, DM and Collector Milind Thakere and others were present.
