TELIAMURA, July 13 (TIWN): Smuggling of cannabin has rampant in the rural Tripura. Teliamura Police on Sunday arrested one on charge of carrying cannabin illegally with an aim to smuggle, said Police
Police managed to seize a total of 18 kg of cannabin from Dharmanagar-Agartala bus on Sunday.
One identified as Maniruddin (27), resident of Churaibari Police Station area was arrested on charge carrying cannabin through the bus which was moving towards Agartala from Dharmanagar, said police.
Police had seized 18 kg of cannabin from the bus after it arrived here at Teliamura Shib Bari area.
According to the police the Teliamura Custom officials acting on a tip off detained the bus and had seized cannabin and later handed over with the police.
The accused youth Maniruddin would be produced before the court on Monday, police said.
