AGARTALA, July 11 (TIWN): In a special drive by the Tripura Power Workers Union, a felicitation programmed for the meritorious student including posthumous body and eye donation pledge letter offer programmed was organized at Muktadhara Auditorium on Saturday.
Addressing the programme, Information and Cultural Affairs Minister stated that eye donation is an act of donating one’s eyes and body organs after his/her death. It is an act of charity, purely for the benefit of the society.
Everyone should voluntarily approach on eye and organs donation centre and pledge one’s eyes and organs after one’s death, added Saha.
He also mentioned that we have to believe that even after our death; our body parts are helping a disable to see and feel the world with happiness.
With a single approach of gracious person some unfortunate people will receive an unexpected gift of eyesight and some will be gifted with body organs through which the people will able to see and feel the world through their eyes and organs, said Minister Saha.
Minister Saha also mentioned that even though we die, our eyes and organs will live on and see the world. Indeed, eye and posthumous body organ donation is one of the best donations that we can ever make. It is the most humanitarian act that we can commit during our lifetime.
During the programme, Chief Secretary of Tripura Power Department S. K. Rakesh, Chairman of TECC Subash Saha, Tripura Power Department Technical Director Mridul Kanti Choudhury and others were present.
