AGARTALA, July 8 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident a middle aged man at his 60, was crushed to death when a boundary wall of his house collapsed over him at Hapania Dillipoli area under Amtali Police station on Tuesday late night.

The deceased is identified as Haripada Sarkar, son of late Dinobondhu Sarkar.

Reportedly, on Tuesday late night after the mild rain when he was resting in his room all of a sudden, the mud wall of his house collapsed and crushed over him pulling him towards death.

Getting alarm, his son Dhnanjoy Sarkar rushed to the spot, pulled him out of the heap of mud wall and immediately took him to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital for instant treatment.

Unfortunately, after preliminary treatment the doctors declared him as dead. However, Amtali police personnel reached to the hospital and took a note of the incident.

Further, getting confirmation from doctors regarding the spot dead of the deceased, the Amtali police station personnel sent the body to AGMC hospital on Tuesday late night for postmortem.

Taking to Amtali police station OC Pranjit confirmed that it was an incident of spot dead and after postmortem the body will be handed over to the deceased family on Wednesday.

A pall of gloom descended over the family members of the deceased with this gloomy incident,

However, police is further investigating the case.
