MOHANPUR, July 3 (TIWN): Yet in another major drive, with the initiative of the excise department official Sanat Dewan, the department has succeeded in ceasing alcohol bottles from different places under Mohanpur sub-division on Thursday late evening.
This is for the first time when without taking any help from the local police, the department has succeeded in ceasing alcoholic bottles from different shops of the area.
Excise department official Sanat Dewan along with the other officials of the department raided the areas like Montola, panchaboti, Ishanpur under Mohanpur sub-division and conducted raid in various shops and ceased alcohol bottles from different shops.
Following the raid, the department has ceased 258 of bottles of alcohol from the shop and said that for last many days, illegal business of alcohol and contraband items are going at large, disrupting the smooth movement of the livelihood in the area.
Talking to the media, Excise department official Sanat Dewan further said that the market price of these alcoholic bottles cost around 32 thousand and there are also possibilities that he will also conduct some other raid in the area to curb rise of illegal business in the area.
