AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): As a part of administrative routine, altogether 80 Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) were shifted to the Strong Room of Umakanta on Thursday for the upcoming by-election of the state.
Reportedly, gearing up for the upcoming by-election of 13-Pratbhgarh constituency and 46-Surma on Thursday morning with tight security a total of 80 Electronic Voting Machines from the District EVM Strong Room were shifted to the Strong Room of Umakanta.
The state is all set for the upcoming by-election of13-Pratbhgarh constituency and 46-Surma which is going to be held on June 27.
A team from the ECL Company arrived on June 10 to examine the quality of the Electronic Voting Machines. As the notification of Election Commission of India, Counting of votes would be held on June 30. The scrutiny of the nomination papers is done and all the nomination papers of the candidates were declared valid by the authority.
However, it has been further declared that the polling for the by-election in the state would start from 8.00 AM and would continue till 5.00 AM. The elections will be completed by July 2, 2015 as issued by Election Commission of India.
As a part of valid document, the voters should carry their Electoral photo identity card (EPIC) on the cay of election.
