KHOWAI, June 18 (TIWN): On yet another tragic incident a pregnant minor narrowly escaped death after her lover dissected her abdomen with a blade to remove a baby which the girl had conceived during their illicit relation.

The incident occurred at Gonki Colony under Khowai Police Station after one Suku Debnath of the area turned up toward his illicit relation with his 17 years old neighbour. Suku Debnath and the victim was in a relationship for the last 9-months. But at the meantime lover of Suku became pregnant and was later pilled so that the baby on her abdomen gets damaged.

On June 7, 2015 the accused has brought a prescribed medicine to kill the baby in the womb and pilled it to the victim. Later on June 13, 2015 the accused went to the victim’s house and he himself dissected her abdomen with a blade and removed the body of the baby.

Leaving the victim in life threatening condition, the accused Suku Debnath managed to escape from the village and has not returned yet today. However, later the victim was immediately taken to the Khowai hospital and is undergoing treatment. Besides, the victim’s family had lodged a complaint against the accused youth Suku Debnath. Police failed to arrest the culprit.

The victim on Thursday deposed before the First Class Judicial Magistrate Court.

However, the incident has triggered huge resentment among the locals.
