AGARTALA, June 15 (TIWN): Friends2support organization in association with National Blood Transfusion Council (NBTC), Ministry of health and family welfare under government of India has organized a National short film competition on voluntary blood donation.
As a part of the competition only short films can be submitted and the entry is free. The film shall not be more than 3 minutes (180 seconds), including the beginning and end credits.
The organization aims to create awareness about voluntary blood donation among the people. The website friends2support.org was started by few IT professionals who came together and designed a website to bring all the blood donors to a common platform. This website was launched on 14th November 2005, and the founders became its first donor, but the count rose to 200000 donors. However, the motto of this organization is to make the best use of contemporary technologies in delivering a promising web-portal, which brings together all the blood donors in India.
Coinciding with the National Blood donation day, a jury comprising eminent people from across the society will watch the 15 shortlisted entries in presence of public, media person and will finalize the top three winners on 1st October to present awards.
