KAMALPUR, June 14 (TIWN): In the sensational Bijoy Deb death case in the police lock-up of Kamalpur Police station, the State government ordered for Magisterial investigation in the case. The order issued on 09/06/2015 bore the number 21(2)-PD/ 2015(MI).

According to the order, the DM of Dhalai district Sandip R. Rathore appealed to the commoners related to the case to appear in the hearing with related documents. The hearing would be held on 17th June next at Kamalpur Revenue Dakbunglow.

It is remarkable that, on 5^th June last Kamalpur police arrested one Bijoy Deb (37) of Noagaon area for creating public nuisance in drunken condition. Police arrested him around 10 pm and around 12 pm he died in the police lock-up mysteriously.

Next day Congress staged vehement protest against it and demanded for stringent action, magisterial investigation and compensation for the family of Bijoy.

PCC president Birajit Sinha rushed to the spot to stand by the bereaved family. Top cops like DIG (Northern Range) Khatrajoy Reang, SP Bijoy Debbarma rushed to Kamalpur Police Staion.

Three cops ASI Maniklal Mohanta, Habilder Ratan Das and Constable Pandiram Reang got suspended.
