AGARTALA, June 8 (TIWN): Income tax officials seize a truck in Chakmaghat, under Teliamura P.S., coming on its way from Kolkata to Agartala on Monday at around 3 pm. After being informed by secret sources two income tax officers namely Niranjan Das and Prasenjit Tripura sent alert to the police force and caught the car in red hands.
But the driver managed to escape from that spot. The truck has been identified with the number plate of ML-05D9864. The truck driver could not show any pass or proper challan to the police and thus escaped from the place.
The truck was coming from Kolakata, and its final destination was in Agartala, Gol Bazaar area, bearing equipments of Rs. 7 to 8 lakh, including belt, iron, and various stationary items. It has been reported that this truck was coming in an illegal way without any proper chalan copy.
The truck was immediately seized by the Sales Tax Dept. and presently is now kept under Teliamura P.S.
