UDAIPUR, June 7 (TIWN): Stressing on an urgent need to spread the financial awareness among the people of Gomati District, Assistant General Manager Marc Lal Rohian of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Guwahati on June 7 said that agents of various money-pooling companies were defrauding the investors and were earning huge commissions from the companies.
“To safeguard from frauds in the market, financial awareness is important for the poor people who invest all their savings with an expectation that their money is safe and secure and they will get it back with much interest”, said Saurav Rai, Assistant Manager National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) office, Kolkata while addressing the crowd.
The programme organized by the joint initiatives of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) at the Gomati Jatri Nibash Conference Hall on June 7.
“There are some agents of the money-pooling companies, who are used to mislead the investors and earn huge amount of commissions from the concern companies, after the money was invested by the public”, Assistant General Manager Marc Lal Rohian of Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Guwahati said.
While adding the necessary points, they also talked about few regulations which have been made to check this menace at the ground level to avoid such kind of frauds in the markets.
Further it has been stated that financial awareness is essential to safeguard the investors from the fraud agents.
Besides, SEBI has been providing free consultation to the investors through phone calls, in 14 languages on 24-hour basis, through which the investors can resolve their grievance.
SEBI has been also providing information through its website so that they can provide help to the investors to resolve their problems.
