AGARTALA, June 7 (TIWN): A sub-inspector, identified as Palash Datta was suspended on Saturday for allegedly taking a bribe of “lakhs†of amount in cash from a civilian for dismissing a police case.
Reportedly, in the year 2008 to 2009 a civilian died in a road accident and to dismiss the case, the SI palash Datta grabbed huge amount of bribe from the deceased family as well as from the owner of the car which had meet the accident and left the civilian died on the road.
Source further said that charge sheet was also file saying that the man died after he had fallen from tree and was hit with serious injuries and was left dead on the spot. The sources further say that only on the basis of the talks of SI Palash Datta the doctors also filed a medical report that the man died after he had fallen from the tree.
The case was undergoing investigation by CID special branch. However, after years of investigation SI Palsh Datta was found guilty and was suspended from service from Airport PS.
Following the case he was suspended from the service, sources added.
