AGARTALA, June 3 (TIWN): In a road mishap, a constable of 12Bn Tripura State Rifles (TSR) expired when his bike dashed with a vehicle TATA Ace, at Jarilongbari area under Teliamura Police Station on Tuesday night last.
According to the police sources, the rider with TSR bike bearing registration number TR01-S-7747 while returning to home from Tripura State Rifles Head Quarter of Chakmaghat dashed with TATA Ace bearing registration number TR02-A-1746 at Jarilongbari area.
Detailing about the incident police sources said that the TATA Ace vehicle was parked in a non-parking area in a dark place on the road. The incident took place when the vehicle put on its back gear unnoticed and dashed with the bike.
The deceased was identified as Pranesh Debnath, a residence of Khowai Uttar Durgapur. He was then immediately admitted to the Teliamura Gramin Hospital and there he was declared dead.
Further, receiving information about the road mishap Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ajit Pratap Singh with Officer In-Charge (OC) of Teliamura Police Station Santosh Shill rushed to the area and seized both the vehicles.
The driver managed to escape from the place of occurrence. Police is further investigating the case.
