AGARTALA, May 30 (TIWN): Health Minister Badal Chowdhury on Saturday addressing the 45th All Tripura Medical Conference at Agartala Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan had urged the govt. doctors here to undertake better treatment policy. The doctor’s conference was first held at TRIMACON office near Agartala Press Club, where the doctors of the state taken up several important and burning issues in their discussion.
However, later the main programme was held at Rabindra Bhawan. Minister Badal Chowdhury inaugurated the programme.
Chowdhury said the doctors should provide better health serices at the rural areas of the state besides, the city areas. He also said that the doctors should also take better treatment policy to contain water borne diseases in the rural areas.
Choudhury stressing on the trust of patients on doctors said that doctors should prescribe generic medicines to the patients as it is cheap and are of better quality. Choudhury added, state government has given priority in minimizing the water borne diseases in the state of Tripura.
However, it is often alleged that the doctors either junior or the seniors behave rough to the patients. The state government has taken various initiatives regarding education and health of the state’s people in this FY, said Chowdhury.
During the programme several other dignitaries remained present along with state secretary to Health and family welfare department.
