KHOWAI, May 29 (TIWN): Farmers in Khowai are going to obstruct the BSF to work in the border area, if their demands are not fulfilled soon. According to the sources, near to the Khowai Police Station in total of 927 meter areas, was given fencing, without leaving a proper gate-way opened for farmers. As a result, 40 farmers’ in total of 250 Ekar fields, which are their agricultural lands, are getting out of their range. Poor farmers have to walk more than 1 km. to reach in their destination due to lack of proper gate way system.

The farmers have now demanded from the present DM N.Darlong to make the gate in this (India’s) side of fencing. DM has also ensured anyhow to arrange this gate within 1 month.
The farmers have announced that if their demand is not fulfilled within this given date, they will obstruct the BSF’s work and hence they will protest in this way. Now it is to be seen whether in 1 month the gate is made or not.
