KAMALPUR, MAY 28 (TIWN): Acting on a tip-off, the task force of Salema Forest Range led by Surjyomhan Debbarma and Ananta Malakar seized 3965 kilograms of boro elaichi (big Cardamom) from the house of some Surendra Debbarma of Ashapurna Roaja para the day before in the night. The seized forest treasure had a market value of 4, 75, 800 rupees according to the departmental sources.
Task force petrol officer Surjyomohan Debbarma told TIWN, that they received an information that, for last one or two weeks Surendra was gathering some forest wealth in his house secretly. As the illegal storage of boro elaichi (big cardamom) became sure, the forest task force raided and seized the articles. The task force also arrested Surendra Debbarma for illegal; storage of forest treasure.
