KHOWAI, May 22 (TIWN): The allegation of misappropriation of around Rs. 14.1 Lakh sanctioned under MGNREGA on the pretext of undertaking a work of constructing a 300meter long brick soling road at Induriya village.
The villagers alleged that altogether 300meters long brick soling road was planned to be constructed from Kamaljit Debbarma house to Probhut Shautal road but the work stopped after completion of 60meters of road, said sources.
The sources further confirmed that altogether 38 families are suffering due to poor communication facility at Induriya village. The villagers said that they are facing huge problems as they face trouble in transportation from one village to another.
Similarly, during the financial year 2014-2015, construction of road works completed under MGNREGA scheme at Bellendra Chowdhury Para, Shubhas Choudhury Para, Biswamani Para along with Mohanta Tilla of Khengra Gram under Khowai Poddibill Block, confirmed sources. The concern officials presented an account of around Rs. 1.8 lakh after the completion of brick soling road at Shubha Choudhury Para, sources further added. On the other hand, on the pretext of helping 30 beneficiaries for doing rubber plantation the concern authority have presented an account of around Rs.8.35. Whereas as per the sources report, only 4 -5 beneficiaries got help under this scheme.
Now the question raised by the villagers that if the fund sanctioned under MGNREGA have not been utilized for the benefit of the locals then where has the money gone.
