AGARTALA, May 22 (TIWN): Two day long discussions meet on “Action Taken report on the recommendation of 21st RCM at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat held on 17-18 April last†begins at Pragna Bhawan on Friday.
Sources say, the discussion meet included the statement from the representative’s of respective states in terms of Agricultural production, livestock and fisheries and will also comprise suggestions for research agenda. The discussion meet is attended by the representatives from the Government of Assam, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Government of Manipur, Government of Meghalaya, Government of Mizoram, Government of Nagaland, Government of Sikkim, and Government of Tripura.
Sources also says, that Supplementary agenda from Sikkim is the establishment of an Organic livestock feed plant, developing animal husbandry ventures to address the local requirement of rural farmers for creating Sustainable livelihood options in organic way, developing package of practices for organic livestock ventures, All India coordinated Research project on Goat to be extended to Sikkim, and Heifers born in Central Government farms be allotted to Sikkim for improving the bovine germplasm of the state.
However, the closing ceremony on Saturday is expected to be attended by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Chief Minister of Meghalaya Dr. Mukul Sangma, along with other dignitaries including Dr.B.D.Chakma, Minister of Fisheries (Govt. of Mizoram), Minister of Tribal welfare and Animal Resource Development of Tripura Aghore Debbarma, Minister of Rural Development and forest Naresh Chandra Jamatia, Minister of Fisheries Khagendra Jamatia and other dignitaries to remain present in the program.
