AGARTALA, May 21 (TIWN): Addressing the gathering at 5th Foundation day of all footwear Merchant Association, at press club, on Thursday Minister of Food and Civil supplies Bhanu Lal saha said that the government is trying its best to reduce the VAT on the goods.
Accepting the 6 charter point of demand placed by all footwear Merchant Association, he stated that it is not possible to give response to the demand as of now and he will discuss the matter with the tax commissioner.
He also said that comparing to the previous year; VAT has been reduced by the state government to an affordable stage.
Further he also stressed on the point that products are also illegally transferred through Churaebari check post, and sometimes they pay tax and sometime no tax is imposed.
Speaking at the foundation day, he also urged to the entire departmental store to be customer friendly and should look upto customer satisfaction.
