KHOWAI, May 14 (TIWN): 3 villages under Shanti Nagar Gram Panchayat, Khowai Block are suffering from no proper transport system. More than 5 lakh rupees have been collapsed by local tender without utilizing a single penny for development.
According to the sources, in the Boroikota village of Khowai the villagers have to cross a small river namely Samruchara. A temporary bridge was over the river. But due to the rainy season 80 percent of the road has been broken down. As a result no vehicles can come through this way and all the connections between these villages thus have been broken.
Merely 5 to 6 lakh rupees had been sanctioned for making this bridge by sal tree. But the local tender just has eaten the money without doing any work.
While talking to TWIN correspondent Executive Engineer Pankaj Sutradhar said that they will ask the tender man about this and within 2/3 months this work will be completed. Now it is to be seen how many days it would be needed to fulfill the work practically.
