Agartala, March 27 (TIWN): Tripura Players welfare society, (sponsored by ONGC) organized 8th ONGC Agartala Marathon logo release programme at Agartala press club today.

MP Jiten Chaudhury, Sports Minister Shahid Chowdhury,  Tripura Players welfare society secretary Sujit Roy  and other dignataries were present in log release ceremony.

"To unite and create brotherly feeling among the people, the Tripura players welfare association is going to organize the Agartala Marathon on March 29th.

While addressing to the reporters at a press conference today Chief Advisor of  Tripura players welfare association Kamaresh Paul said that the Agartala Marathon will start from old Jail Ground near Purbasha.

The event had generated a huge interest during the past years. This year also, Tripura Players welfare society have decided to make it an open race so that noted long distance runners from other parts of the country can take part, one of the organizers he added.

The marathon is expected to witness over 1000 participants from different parts of the country, he informed.

President of Tripura players welfare association Sujit Ray, Secretary Amiya Kumar Das and other members of the association were present in the press conference.
