Agartala, March 25 (TIWN):Serious resentment is brewing among the noted local singer. Prasar Bharati Akashvani Agartala has not invited them for performing in the two day “ Gaan Mela†a musical programme to held here at Rabindra Satabarsikhi Bhawan to held on March 26 and 27.
According to them the officials are bringing singers from Kolkata, whereas the local singers here are not given chances to perform. Noted singer of the state Aparna Pal termed its unfortunate and unacceptable, local singers are in the empanel list of Prasar Bharati. They regularly perform in various programmes, outside artists are welcomed but state artists must be given equal opportunities.
Another noted singer Tithi Debbarman, echoed the same thing, she stated state singers deserve the same respect like outsiders. If the step motherly attitude Prasar Bharati is not changed such programmes would be meaningless.
It is alleged that a section of official are trying to gain something extra by sideling the local singers and inviting the outside singers to perform in the two day musical programme.
Eminent singer Sriradha Bandopadhyay and Subhra Kanit Chattarjee will participate in the programme on March 27.Besides noted singers Kinjal Chattopadhayay, Trisa Parui and Sudipto Gayen will perform songs on March 27. The authority invited all to attend the programme.
