Agartala, March 24(TIWN):The lower court here has approved the arrest of Bidyut Das while undergoing treatment, the main accused in the murder of Bitihka Barman, Former Zilla Parishad member of ruling CPI(M).

The approval was given by chief judicial magistrate Hrisihkesh Chakrabroty after verifying  the case diary submitted by the Investigation-Officer in  the court on Monday. In the case dairy IPC  section – 201

(giving false evidence ) was also  added by the Investigation Officer (IO) .

It is mentionable here that on last  Thursday evening , Bitihka Barman  was murdered while going from  Shalbagan to GB hospital by a scooty, Bidyut Das was her pillow rider  also sustained to did some injuries. Later he said that they were attacked  by  4- 5 people, whom he named as three of the alleged assailants .

Accordingly, police arrested three assailants. After investigation it was found whole episode was cooked by Bidyut himself.  The IO of the case Prajit Malakar told TIWN  that the  preliminary investigation and evidences hints  Bithika was murdered by Bidyut . The accused claims her as wife.  After his release from the Hospital , police would ask for remand from the court. Meanwhile, police have tightened  the security in the GBP hospital ward where Bidyut Das is presently admitted.
