AMBASSA, March 23 (TIWN): Even in this so-called regime of ‘Golden era’, the inhabitants of Haduclack para have to walk 15 to 16 miles to fetch drinking water. And the scenario is not something new. For last 7 to 8 years the inhabitants are facing the same problem at a stretch. They knocked the harbingers of Golden Era several times. But they got nothing but assurances.As a result, to resolve their problem, they blocked the Assam-Agartala National Highway on Monday morning.
Almost three hundred villagers blocked the NH-44. It created a deadlock as vehicles ceased on both sides.
Getting the information, Senior Deputy Magistrate Mimi Darlong and the SDO of DWS rushed to the spot.The blockade ended after they assured of early resolve of the problem.
