KAILASHAHAR, March 24 (TIWN): Accused of Slim Mia murder case was arrested by police day before night from Bishalgarh. They were produced before the Kailasahar CJM Court on Monday where they were given 5 days jail remand.
Sources informed that the police had arrested accused Mujibor Rehman (42) and his son Tahir Sultan from Bishalgarh Dangalia area. Through mobile tracking, police had identified the prominent place of their hiding. After receiving proper information, on day before night at around 2.00 pm, they had raided the house at Bishalgarh in civil dress. On the basis of information provided by them, another accused Akrab Ali was also arrested. Both of the accused were produced before the Court where they were given 5 days jail remand.
Acting on information given by the Tripura Police, the Assam Police on Wednesday recovered a stolen car from Assam Bazarimura area. According to the police the car was stolen by some interstate smugglers after the murder of one Selim Mia (32) at river Manu at Khowai on February 8. Police recovered the body of Selim on February 10. Selim along with his car reported to be went missing on February 8. His shoes and tshirt were mysteriously recovered at Chontel adjacent to River Manu, last evening. Primarily police could not recover the alto car bearing number TR01G0252.
Failing to trace Selim, his father Benu Miah lodged a missing diary at the Kumarghat police station. Earlier Police suspected that Selim Mia was murdered due to dispute on property between Selim’s father Benu Mia and another Maya Mia, a relative of Benu Mia. However, later the Tripura police following the murder of Selim Mia and his lost car passed an order to the neighbouring states like Assam, Mizoram and Meghalaya. Following which the Assam Police managed to detain the lost vehicle bearing number TR01G0252. Police said the smugglers who had stolen the vehicle had changed the car number at Assam
