KHOWAI, March 20 (TIWN): Almost after passing of 48 hours police are still unable to trace down the five missing students of Sharad Chandra Secondary School in Shinbhicherra Municipal Council area under Khowai police station.According to sources, the five students namely Shankar Paul (17), Raman Latai (17) students of class 9th, Dipu Debnath (13) student of class 7th, Nirmal Curnang (13) and Swapan Talange (13) students of class 8th went out from their house yesterday morning to attend school. But they did not return home from the school till today evening.Later, Raman Latai (17) father managed to make contact with him as he was having a mobile phone. But failed to make contact the source added.
"We have spoken to relatives, teachers and friends of all the five missing students. However, we could not find a single plausible reason to ascertain the events that made the students leaveâ€, said police. The family members of the missing students assert that the students were not under any pressure, said cops.
"It's been two days. We are hopeful that the investigations will help us trace our missing boy. So far we have not received a phone call from him," said uncle of Raman Latai. He added Raman’s father is depressed and the family is shocked.
A case has been registered in Khowai police station regarding the incident and the Khowai police station has asked the other police stations to look into the matter, said police.
