KHOWAI, March 20 (TIWN): In an attempt to provide basic facilities like education and health to people living in the villages of Bidyabil, Langracherri, Monaibari-1, Monaibari-2 and KairaniCherra, at Biyabil School under Khowai subdivision, 83rd battalion of BSF conducted a civic action programme on Friday. Apart from this free medical camp was held by the battalion. Among the guest of honour, BSF Commandant Sukhbinder Singh, Deputy Commandants A.K.Singh and Ranadhir Singh were present in the programme.
Addressing at the programme, Deputy Commandant A.K.Singh told that, this type of programme will inspire the spirit of social service and this year the golden jubilee celebration of BSF will be held. Therefore, the battalion will arrange such types of programmes in near by future. It is to be mention that around 400 people was benefited by this free medical camp and civic action programme. Other than education and sports material including computers, books and pencils worth 3.5 lakh rupees were also distributed to local schools to aid some 500 students during the camp.
Such activities will improve relations between the villagers and the BSF and also help in curbing border crimes. The new generation will walk the path of development, he Civic Action Programme by the Border Force aims to inculcate a sense of security by developing cordial relations and harnessing co-operation with villagers living in border areas.
