AGARTALA, March 19 (TIWN): Workshop on “Accreditation in Technical Institution†was organized by SPFU, Tripura at Pragna Bhavan, here today. The workshop will continue till March 20.
Addressing in the workshop professor A K Datta Calcutta University said that the main objectives of the workshop are to understand the different initiatives taken by government of India for quality assurance in technical and higher education. To learn the significance and importance of outcome based accreditation. To learn about best practices as recommended for outcome based education. To learn various requirements for applying outcome based accreditation, he added.
Accreditation is both a status and a process. As a status, accreditation provides public notification that and institution or program meets standards of quality set forth by an accrediting agency, he mentioned.
Accreditation ensures a basic level of quality in the education from an institution. It also ensures degrees will be recognized for the true achievements they are.
