AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): Continuous patronizing of criminals by a section of ruling CPI (M) is now making Tripura virtually a hell for the women in general. The silent, one­ sided and negative role of Tripura Woman Commission to encouraging the criminals to a great extent. With the number of rapes, killings and other sorts of violence taken place recently, Tripura is now in a position to be crowned as numbered one in India in the sphere of violence against women.

In a shocking incident one person namely Bishnu Das husband of Shipra Nandi resident of Fakiramura in Parimal Chowmuhan under Bishalgarh Police Station murdered his wife Shipra Nandi (30) and mother-in-law Manimala Nandi (60), on March 17 and after murdering them accused Bishnu Das set the house on fire.

According to police, before committing the crime accused Bishnu Das took his son Pankaj Das to a relative’s house and left him there.

After getting the information police personnel from Bishalgarh Police Station rushed to the spot. But accused Bishnu Das managed to flee away from the spot after the incident. A case has been registered in this regard. The accused Bishnu Das was arrested by the police personnel of Battala out post from Nagarjala area around 2:30 pm, here today. Later he was handed over to Bishalgarh Police Station for further investigation, said cops.
