KAMALPUR, March 15 (TIWN): Recently, the Dhalai District Education Officer issued a controversial order regarding the appointment of the daughter of former and deceased MLA Sudhir Das under SSA scheme. The controversy arose as the District Education Officer ordered the Inspector of Schools Kamalpur to appoint the lady in place of her absconding husband.

On 10th March, 2015 last some Sanchita Das, wife of the Contract Teacher(SSA) of Tafamacherra High School appealed to the District Education Officer to provide her some job as the only earning member of her family, her husband Rajib Deb got absconding from 22nd February last. In the consequence, Sanchita had to fast along with her two children. After receiving the application, the District Education Officer issued an order to the Inspector of Schools, Kamalpur bearing No. 6(10)/EDN (D)/SSA/2015/3161 on 11th March to appoint Sanchita in place of her absconding husband Rajib.

Now, as Rajib is not yet declared dead how the DEO could exercise such order became the question. Moreover, as Sanchita is being engaged temporarily than if Rajib never returns than what would be the fate of Sanchita with her children, becomes a burning question. More seriously, the concerned to the Education Department are very much astonished whether the DEO could exercise such authority or not.
