AGARTALA, March 9 (TIWN): Police personnel from East Agartala Police Station have arrested a Bangladesh national with a large sum of money on Sunday night at Motor-Stand, police said.
Police are yet to ascertain the motive of Alaim Mia (18) son of Hera Mia resident of Nitnakana district in Bangladesh for entering Indian Territory with the large sum of cash.
"During a routine operation by the Police personnel from East Agartala Police Station Alaim Mia was arrested from motor-stand area on Sunday night,” a police spokesman said.
According to the police Alaim Mia (18) was produced before the court today. The court sent him to Jail Custody (JC), said police.
India shares a 4,096-km border with Bangladesh, including 856 km in Tripura. A large portion of the international border remains unfenced and porous.
