KAILASHAHAR, March 6 (TIWN): Police on Thursday arrested two persons and seized 540 bottles of illegal foreign liquor from Unakoti area under Kailasahar police station.

Acting on a tip-off police personnel from Kailasahar police station conducted a search operation in Unakoti area. During the search operation police seized 540 bottles of illegal foreign liquor worth Rs. 40,000 from an Aulto Car bearing number AS10-A-4943 which was proceeding towards Dharmanagar from Kailasahar side.

Police arrested the driver of the car namely Dipan Das (25) and the other namely Bikash Das (28). Police also seized the car. During interrogation both the youths admitted that they were engaged in smuggling of contraband items also.

Later, Police produced Dipan Das (25) and Bikash Das (28) before Kailasahar court, here today.
