Agartala, Feb 25 (TIWN): The Election Commission of India (ECI), is thinking of a plan for voters to cast votes according to their choice of polling station, in this regard aadhar cards would be linked with electoral rolls. This was stated by newly appointed chief electoral officer (CEO) of the state S.K. Rakesh.ECI has convened a national level meeting of all CEOs at Delhi on last Monday .
In the meeting lot of issues was discussed including preparation of zero error electoral roll and linkng of aadhar cards said Rakesh to reporters at secretariat. The ECI on 15 August would officially declare completion of link with aadhar cards with the electoral roll, the work likely to complete before 1st August, he added.
Those who do not have Aadhar cards, any of the following documents – bank pass book, pan card, passport and driving license would be included in the voter list, he said.ECI would sent a guideline in this regard to the states, than only the work would start, CEO informed.
After the new initiative of ECI, it would bring fake voter I – Day to zero level and there would be transparency while preparing the voter list. According to report, 90 percent of voters have aadhar cards in the state and 100 percent of voters have EPIC cards, hence it is expected that within the schedule time the work would be completed in the state.
