Agartala, February 21 (TIWN): “Globalization has only been increasing the problems of common men and people are being forced to turn into a self centered beings so that they cannot protest thatâ€, remarked Chief Minister ,Manik Sarkar, while speaking in a discussion programme on the transcription of Noble laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore’s Geetanjali. While speaking in the programme, yesterday, at Mukta Dhara auditorium the Chief Minister had said that young generation of the society today seems to be trapped in a confined periphery and only the ideologies and philosophies of Tagore can set the youths free.
“In today’s world Tagore is eternal, endless and he can not be kept upon within any definite sphere and his relevance is vivid”, said the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, the legendary ‘Geetanjali’ has now is now available in ethnic languages of Kokborok, Chakma and Mog. Minister of Information and cultural affairs Bhanu Lal Saha expressed his gratitude to the Library department of Biswabharati for making Geetanjali accessible in different languages dominant in Tripura. Eminent artists performed Rabindra Sangeet in the programme. The translator of Geetanjali (into Kokborok) and well known poet Chandrakant Murasingh was also present in the meeting.
