Gambling racket busted in Ambassa, 7 arrested

Ambassa, February 18 (TIWN): Acting on tip-off, police of Ambassa police station arrested seven gamblers along with stake money of Rs. 3200 from Kamalacherra and Harinmara of Kulai in the wee hours of last night and today respectively.
Altogether five gamblers- Hiralal Debbarma, Hatendra Tripura, Ankaja Mag, Josef Debbarma and Rocky Debbarma along with stake money of Rs. 1250, gambling board, disk were arrested from a spot of Harinmara in Kulai, last night. All the five gamblers were produced before the Kamalpur court today.
On the other hand, Hiramoy Debbarma and Sankar Dasgupta were arrested from Kamalacherra area under Ambassa police station here today. Stake money of Rs. 1910 was also recovered from them. They would be produced before the court on tomorrow, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ambassa police station Swapan Dasgupta.
