AGARTALA, February 15 (TIWN): Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) state president Dipak Kumar Roy alleged that the CPI (M) led state government was weakening the existing labour laws in the state.
Addressing reporters here on Sunday at motor stand, Dipak Kumar Roy said that the INTUC would organize state-wide protests against the anti-labour policies of the Manik-led State Government on March 15th.
We will also submit a 34 point charter of demands to the Chief Minister on March 1st.
“Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is trying to introduce the ‘Marwadi’ culture in his governance. He never took any initiative to hold talks with the labour unions ever since he assumed office”, he added.
The uninterrupted 22 year stint in power seems to have taken a toll on the financial transparency of the Left Front administration in Tripura. Corruption in implementation of rural development schemes continues unabated. There is a state government of Tripura eats up all the money which comes from the central government for development, he alleged.
