Belonia, February 13 (TIWN): The Court of District & Sessions Judge, Belonia today sentenced life time imprisonment to Shetoi Sema (24) surrendered extremist of NSCN-IM on charge of murder. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5, 000 on the convict, Shetoi Sema.
According to the police, Shetoi Sema also convicted and sentenced to suffer R.I for 03 (three) years & also to pay a fine of Rs. 2,000/-i.d to suffer R.I for more 03 (three) months for the offence punishable U/S 201 IPC.
On 16-01-14 on the basis of written complaint lodged by Prabha Reang (Bhowmik) (30) W/O lt. Dipak Bhowmik of Manpathar Panchayettilla, P.S-STB against accused Shetoi Sema and Sunil Chakma for commission of offence punishable U/S 302/201/34 IPC for murdering her husband Dipak Bhowmik, a police constable, who was posted at SBM Police Court.
Accused Shetoi Sema and Sunil Chakma jointly murdered Dipak Bhowmik and concealed his dead body in another place with a view to screen the evidence of offence with common intention, said police.
After completion of investigation S.I Sadhan Majumder, O/C MNP O.P (now at BLN P.S), I.O of the case submitted C/S vide STB P.S No. 17/14 dated 31-05-14 U/S 302/201/34 IPC against Shetoi Sema and Sunil Chakma. Owing to suicidal death (by hanging) of accused Sunil Chakma, on 20-01-2014, his trial in this case could not be held.
