AGARTALA, Feb 24 (TIWN): Tripura TET qualified unemployed youths staged a protest on Tuesday in Agartala demanding immediate recruitment. During a protest the agitating youths displayed banners stating “Viswaguru will only happen when teachers are hired.”
Following the protest, dozens of TET qualified unemployed youths were arrested by Tripura police after they gathered to protest in front of the Education Department Office, demanding recruitment.
The TET-1 and TET-2 qualified candidates wanted to meet the higher authorities at the education department. Failing to meet any high officials there, the candidates took an attempt to meet the finance minister and started walking towards the office lane. Police immediately arrested them and took them to AD Nagar ground.
According to the agitators, a total 1488 TET qualifiers are waiting for recruitment for a long time.
Out of over 45000 TET candidates only 4% could pass in Tripura TET but amid the ongoing teachers’ crisis, the government is failing to recruit them.
