AGARTALA, Feb 23 (TIWN): Tripura Community Health Guide Workers’ Union staged a protest in Agartala following their terminations. The protest that was launched in the Circuit House area raised four points of demands — continuation of Community Health Guide (CHG) project’s continuation, recognizing CHUs as PSU employees, guaranteeing allowing, cancellation of termination and to provide documentation about terminations.

Over 3000 employees were hired in 1982 through this scheme and only Rs. 50 was their honorarium. Gradually their honorarium increased. Today, the employees receive Rs. 7,500 per month but the state government suddenly terminated them putting them in severe trouble.
