AGARTALA, Dec 3 (TIWN): Jawar Mia was arrested by Sonamura PS Police in connection with a sexual assault case, under POCSO act.

Based on a complaint lodged on Tuesday, police started an investigation and arrested him from the West Noabari area.

Sonamura PS OC Tapas Das said, the search operation for the accused was conducted with joint initiatives of three police stations — Sonamura, Bodhjungnagar and Amtali police stations.

After interrogations, the accused was produced before the court to take him in police custody.
